BARELY three months after he joined the All Progressives Congress, APC, in Edo State, the former Sergeant at Arms, in the state House of Assembly, Mr Greg Osagie, narrowly escaped death, weekend, when gunmen invaded his residence in Benin City.
His residence, located off Stadium Road, was riddled with bullets shortly after he returned from the party’s meeting at 8:30p.m. When Vanguard visited the scene, yesterday, policemen from Aideyan Division were taking samples of the destruction while sympathisers thronged the house.
Narrating his ordeal to journalists, Osagie said: “When I was coming back at 8:30p.m., from a political meeting, I saw an SUV packed close to my house. I thought they were visitors who came to see my neighbour. So I drove into my compound. “I was just removing my shoes when they shot at my bed room. They were calling me but I had to run outside through the back and escaped.”
