Governor Bello Unveils Who Beat Him After Friday Prayers

The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, has denied reports that he was stoned during a Jumaat prayer in Lokoja, the state capital on Friday.

Reports earlier had it that Bello was stoned over non-payment of salaries during Jumaat prayers at the Lokoja central Mosque to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the creation of the state.
But reacting to the report, the Chief Press Secretary to Governor, Mr. Kingsley Fanwo, said some hired miscreants were caught with stones while trying to attack secirity operatives.

Fanwo in a statement said, “Our attention has been drawn to the unfortunate incident, which occurred during the Jumaat Prayer at the Lokoja Central Mosque to commemorate the 25th Anniversary of the creation of Kogi State.

“It was discovered that some sponsored miscreants caused a mild drama as they were caught with stones, while one of them attacked one of the security aides of the Governor.

“The gallant market women at the Lokoja Old Market accosted the perpetrators and stopped them from absconding from the scene in solidarity with the Governor.

“The Governor wishes to thank the market women and security agencies, who rose to the occasion to protect lives and property at the scene of the unfortunate incident. No life was lost and no serious injury was recorded.

“We can also confirm that arrests have been made and those arrested are already giving useful information to security agents investigating the politically motivated attack at the Mosque.

He has also urged his supporters to remain calm and not take the law into their hands as he remained committed to the cardinal ideals of his administration. Imported and sponsored miscreants, who have infiltrated the state from neighbouring states should know that Kogi is prepared to protect her citizens from desperate politicians who think they can turn the state to a war zone. The people of Kogi will be protected.

“We are not unaware of scheming by change resistors to sponsor attacks against government officials. The staff verification exercise has come to stay because it has exposed powerful forces, who have been milking the state dry. Sponsoring attacks against the Governor will not stop our march to restore sanity to the polity.

“The administration of Governor Yahaya Bello will soon publish the names of corrupt citizens of the state who are behind the Ghost Workers syndrome.

“Governor Yahaya Bello thanks the people of the state for standing resolutely behind his administration to restore the lost glory of the state.

“We know some failed politicians who have been jolted by the giant strides of the Governor are holding on the last straw. We remain undaunted and committed to the development of the State.”

Its Wrong For Mikel and Siasia to collect the $390,000

Aftermath of the 2016 Rio Olympics in Brazil where Nigeria won only a Bronze Medal in male soccer, the Senate may probe the roles of the of Minister of Sport, Solomon Dalung and the Nigeria Olympics Committee (NOC) over the poor performance of the country’s contingent to the global event.
The chairman of the Senate Committee on Sports, Senator Joe Obinna Ogba (PDP, Ebonyi), disclosed this during an interview with journalists in Abuja on Thursday.
Ogba, who was part of the official delegation to Brazil, said a lot of factors ranging from funding to logistics contributed to Nigeria’s no-show performance at the Olympics Games, saying that the Senate will look into the circumstances when it resume from recess next month.
“My committee intends to invite the NOC to come and brief us on the Olympics. Apart from the late arrival of our athletes’ kits, you can see even our national anthem at the opening ceremony was the wrong one. So, all these, we are going to find out what happened when we resume,” Ogba said.
On the donation of $390,000 to the Dream Team VI by a Japanese plastic surgeon and football enthusiast, Dr. katsuya Takasu, the lawmaker said it was wrong of the team to receive the money because its source was unknown.
“I don’t think it was nice for our country to accept such money given the happenings around world now. Money is good but it’s not every money that comes your way that you collect. So, I associate myself fully with the President of the Nigeria Football Federation,” he noted.
On the calls for the resignation of Minister Dalung, Ogba said such calls were alien to Nigerian culture as only the President can hire and fire a minister.
He therefore enjoined Nigerians to plead with President Muhammadu Buhari to release adequate funds to the Ministry of Sports in order for it to fulfil its obligations.Fu yfhy

Another Group, Re-IPOB Emerges from IPOB, Sacks Nnamdi Kanu as Leader

The crisis rocking the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB), took a new twist with the emergence of a third faction claiming to be the authentic group representing the organization.
In a statement by Ikemba Biafra, a splinter new group which parades itself as the Reformed Indigenous People of Biafra (Re-IPOB), has disclosed that it has sacked the Indigenous people of Biafra (IPOB) led by the detained Director of Radio Biafra, Nnamdi Kanu and the new faction, The Rebranded Indigenous People of Biafra (TRIPOB).
The group who promised to disclose their leader on Monday, 29th August, 2016, advised all pro-Biafran agitators to remain peaceful and warned security agents to stop molesting Biafran activists.

“Both IPOB and TRIPOB have been sacked; they should no longer speak for the Biafran people. They are the same outfit and have nothing to offer Biafra.

"We warn that if Nnamdi Kanu , IPOB  and the so-called TRIPOB  continue their antics , RE-IPOB will be forced to make public the sponsors of the two groups. RE-IPOB will not accede to the burning of the Biafran flag as the sacked TRIPOB planned. The Biafran flag is sacred to Biafrans.”
The statement, however, added that RE-IPOB is open to dialogue if the Nigerian government is sincere in ending the protracted agitations for an independent state of Biafra, and warned that the group will not tolerate any insincerity from the government.
“If the federal government is sincere in its dialogue with RE-IPOB, then the Biafran flag can be exchanged with the Nigerian flag in the presence of President Muhammadu Buhari, the National Security Adviser, Director of State Security and the Elders of Biafra. If the dialogue is fruitful; then a peace treaty and a ‘no victor no vanquished tree’ will be planted at Gakem where the first shot of the Nigerian Civil war started and at Amichi Nnewi where the formal cessation of hostilities of the war began.”

Shocking Reasons Why Women Cheat

Are women wired to cheat? Scientists have claimed that women are programmed to do the dirty on their partner – but it’s all down to their biology. According to a new study, lusty ladies are “genetically programmed to have affairs” because monogamy is unnatural.

Instead scientists think the females have evolved to keep their options open at all times, meaning they constantly test relationships and remain on the lookout for better mates.

Researchers at the University of Texas claim women are predisposed to play away, but it’s so they can have “back up plans” if their current relationships fail. The desire to cheat stems back to our ancient ancestors who would have kept back-up partners on the sidelines incase their current squeeze died.
