MAN JAILED FOUR MONTHS FOR STEALING CAT FISH
An Evbouriaria Magistrates’ Court in Benin, Edo State, onThursday sentenced one Sylvester Livinus, 22, to four months’ imprisonment for stealing 10 catfish.
The News Agency of Nigeria reports that the Chief Magistrate, Mrs. C.E. Oghuma, however, gave the convict N5,000 option of fine.
Earlier, the police prosecutor, Inspector Olatoye Oluwaseun, told the court that the accused committed the offence on September, 18, at about 2.45pm on Toronto Street, Benin.
$1 BILLION AID NEEDED BY BOKO HARAM VICTIMS BY 2017, UN
A billion dollars are needed to provide aid for victims of Boko Haram jihadists in Nigeria’s restive northeast next year, the United Nations said Friday, calling the conflict “the largest crisis in Africa”.
“The narrative on this humanitarian crisis can no longer be ignored and we are appealing to the international community to help us prevent the deaths of thousands of innocent civilians over the coming 12 months,” the UN Deputy Humanitarian Coordinator Peter Lundberg said in a statement.

2017 BUDGET WILL NOT CHANGE NIGERIA ECONOMY-- VC PRESIDENT
