JAMB Concludes 2016 Varsity Admission

The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board has closed the 2016 admissions to all federal and state universities, its Registrar/Chief Executive, Prof. Is-haq Oloyede, told 9jaspotlights. on Thursday.
He, however, announced an extension of the 2016 admissions to “all Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Education and Private Universities.”
He said, “All tertiary institutions and the general public are hereby informed that the 2016 admissions exercise into public universities closed on Wednesday, November 30, 2016.
“However, the Honourable Minister of Education has graciously approved an extension of two weeks (from December 1 to December 15, 2016) for all Polytechnics, Monotechnics, Colleges of Education and Private Universities.
“All institutions concerned are advised to promptly process their recommendations to JAMB within the approved period.”
As JAMB prepares for the 2017 UTME, Oloyede said all interested Computer Based Test centre owners (old and prospective) have been invited to apply online through www.jamb.org.ng for accreditation for the 2017 Universities Tertiary Matriculation Examination.
He said, “The CBT centres are invited to attend a meeting on Tuesday, December 13, 2016.
“Interested CBT centre owners are to register on www.jamb.org.ng. The registration closes by 12.00pm on Monday, December 12, 2016.”
Oloyede advised the general public to disregard all websites and social media accounts on Facebook and Twitter that have been interacting with them while posing as JAMB affiliates/agents.
“JAMB has not commenced the sale of the 2017 UTME application and has not appointed and will not appoint any agent/or cyber cafĂ© as its agent. The public is advised to beware of fraudsters.
“JAMB advises all candidates to always visit its website on www.jamb.org.ng for registration and other necessary information.
“We call on all patriots to support JAMB in enhancing access to and equity in tertiary education in Nigeria.”
