The Borno State Governor, Kashim Shettima has said that poverty is the “number monster dragging backward”, asserting that many problems gave birth to the growing poverty.
He made this known in Kaduna when governors from all the 19 states held a meeting with religious and traditional leaders on Monday.
The Governor said: “Poverty, poverty and I say again, poverty, is to many of us, the number one monster dragging backward, our northern Nigeria. Many problems gave birth to growing poverty in the north. In reaction, poverty is also giving birth to many problems in the north.”
