The word recession is now very familiar to Nigerians. Due to our crashing economy, more and more people are cutting back on trivial things. Those who usually threw lavish birthday parties year after year with superstar musicians mounting the stage have suddenly realized that playing the CDs of the musicians is the same thing as having the so called star singing live.

Kogi state born singer Jaywon also lamented the bad effect of the recession on entertainers. He said:
“The economy is very bad and it has been affecting us. There is no money in the country for now, so everyone is feeling the heat”.
