Pep Guardiola has revealed games are not always about tactics following his side 1-1 draw against Borussia Monchengladbach in the Champions league.
Manchester City are through to the second round of Europe’s elite competition sealing a second spot in the group as Barcelona beat Celtic 2-0 at Glasgow to secure the first place.
After the match, a delighted Guardiola said football is not all about the tactics, pointing out the early minutes of the game as his side started a bit shaky.
He said: “At some moments, it’s not about the tactics, the tactics are important, of course, but the reason why in the first half in some moments we didn’t play good is for another reason. The players know that and we are going to improve on that.
“I am so satisfied for all the games. I was a trainer here in Germany and know how difficult Gladbach are. But we did it, which is why it is big congratulations to the team.”
