Put some ‘respect’ on those feet because without them you wouldn’t be able to walk or go anywhere. If you want your feet to be happy feets (that’s a cartoon reference, if you don’t get it then, well. you don’t) then do these things to them.
1. BEING HYDRATED MATTERS: If your heels look like you’ve just walked through the trenches, maybe you’re not drinking enough water. One of the symptoms of chronic dehydration is dry feet. So, drink at least 8 glasses of water a day. You might not think there’s a connection between water and pretty feet, but there is.
2. USE SMOOTHERS AND SOFTENERS: You can go to the store and buy smoothing creams, but you can actually save your money and just look in your kitchen for feet softeners and exfoliants.
3. OLIVE OIL IS YOUR FRIEND: You can use olive oil for more than just pasta. It’s a great moisturizer for your skin. Soak a ball of cotton in olive oil and use it to massage your feet for 20-25 minutes. With the oil still on your feet, put on a pair of socks and keep them on for an hour. Then, gentle rinse the oil from your feet and pat dry.
4. SUNSCREEN: For the team light skinned people. To prevent any premature aging, you want to make sure you apply sunscreen to your feet. Many people forget to apply sunscreen on that area and, well, that’s why their feet look like walking leather bags.
5. ON A DAILY BASIS WASH YOUR FEET: Your feet spend a lot of time sweating in socks, and that doesn’t lead to pretty feet. They also get dirtier than any other part of your body. So, wash them daily. If you can wash your feet twice a day, that would be ideal. Wash them in lukewarm water and dry them with a soft towel. Think of them like a baby – be gentle.
6. TRY FOOT SOAKS ON A WEEKLY BASIS: Who wouldn’t want to have a foot soak? They’re so relaxing. Fill your bath with lukewarm water and put in a quarter of a cup of Epsom salts and a couple drops of coconut oil. This will smooth and soothe your feet after a long week of work.
7. LADIES, EASY ON THEE HEELS: If you wear high heels every day, you’re not doing your feet any favors. You can wear heels, however, try to minimize wearing them as much as possible because they’re very hard on your feet and lower back. But, don’t worry, you can still look cute and fashionable by wearing a lower heel or a cute ballet flat.
