Several worshippers have been killed in a church building collapse in Uyo, Akwa Ibom state on Saturday.
It was gathered that the incident occurred during the bishopric consecration of the pastor of Reigners Bible Church in Uyo town.
Rescue workers are currently battling to free people trapped in the debris.
Although the number of casualties is still uncertain, eyewitness report says at least 30 people may have been killed in the disaster.
The latest incident is a sad reminder of 2014 collapse of a building belonging to Synagogue Church of all Nations, Lagos, where at least 115 people – mostly foreigners – were killed.
